Job Description

Overview of the Position:

The Quality Control Specialist has the responsibility and authority to assist the Chief Inspector in maintaining compliance with Federal Regulations and Industry Standards as outlined by the Repair Station and Quality Manual, AS9110 Quality Management System, and the Repair Station Training Manual. Assist with the regular review processes of the Repair Station to continually improve safety, quality and training by identifying risks and aiding in the development and implementation of improved practices and procedures.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Quality system processes in compliance with FAA and Customer requirements

  • Perform Component Maintenance Manual Revisions.

  • Document and track Non-Conformance reports (CAR'S).

  • Track Warranty Claims, and report trends to both the Chief Inspector and Customer Service Manager.

  • Support in revising and maintaining company's Training Program.

  • Support monitoring the Calibrated Tooling and Shelf Life Program item due dates.

  • Assist in ensuring that all policies and procedures comply with regulations, procedures, and

  • Support Quality Department during product investigations and audits.

  • Contribute to the development and review of SOPs, Shop Equipment Preventative Maintenance Program, and other Quality related documents.

  • Participate in CAR'S analytical review process and contribute to reducing workplace and component risks.

  • Serve as backup for the Chief Inspector (Excluding RTS) in his or her absence.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Inspector.



Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Good communication and problem-solving skills for working in a team-oriented

  • Good process improvement skills are a plus.

  • Any previous inspection or aerospace industry related experience is a plus.

  • Technical Ability - Minimum of 3 years of Be familiar with 14 CFR 43, 65 and 145 requirements.

  • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving problems without conflict, not blaming; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things. Process focus.

  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; is able to multi-task and be able to change priorities as required by customer driven

  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

  • Computer Skills: Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.


Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and 3 years of related experience or some combination of education and experience is possible depending on experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret federal regulations, customer, engineering drawings, manufacturer's maintenance manuals and sketches as required. Additional documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals as required. The ability to utilize inspection type measuring tools.



Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.



Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
