Job summary

Tyonek Native Corp in Kiln, Mississippi, seeks an experienced Quality/Inspection Specialist to ensure aircraft maintenance, modification, and related services meet contract, regulatory, and AS9110 quality standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting activities, interpreting drawings and data, maintaining quality records, and guiding production to containment and corrective actions. Requires 8+ years in aircraft maintenance and active Secret clearance; FAA A&P preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Active Secret clearance required or ability to obtain.
• 8+ years aircraft maintenance experience and corresponding inspections.
• Knowledge of AS9110 quality-management-system requirements and DCMA 8210.1C.
• Ability to read and interpret technical orders, drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect completed and in-process aircraft maintenance and modifications per contract.
• Document inspection results per requirements and maintain records.
• Perform first article inspections and interpret drawings and data.
• Identify nonconformities and coordinate corrective actions with production.
• Provide technical guidance to production and ensure safety and quality.

DUTIES

• Support and promote the Company's quality objectives and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Inspect completed and in-process aircraft maintenance and modification activities; document results in accordance with contract and company requirements.
• Perform first article inspections and interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, specifications, and current approved technical data.
• Inspect, test, and measure materials, products, installations, and workmanship using appropriate mechanical and electrical inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other applicable tools.
• Operate and maintain inspection equipment such as fuel lower explosive limit (LEL) monitors, borescopes, scales, and related devices; verify equipment is serviceable and within calibration when required.
• Identify and document nonconformities, communicate findings, and coordinate with production leadership on containment and corrective action.
• Maintain accurate, traceable inspection and quality records in paper or electronic systems.
• Monitor adherence to approved procedures and safety requirements; promptly report violations or conditions that could affect product quality or personnel safety.
• Provide technical guidance to production personnel and perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• At least 8 years of aircraft maintenance experience, relevant education or military experience may be considered where contract requirements permit.
• Demonstrated experience performing aircraft inspections in an AS9110 or comparable aviation quality-management-system environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of DCMA 8210.1C
• Ability to interpret applicable technical orders, drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and current revisions of AS9110 and applicable military or customer standards.
• Working knowledge of aircraft mechanical and avionics systems, aviation terminology, precision measurement, inspection methods, calibration controls, and quality-record requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate clearly, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively with production, engineering, program, and quality personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of progressive quality assurance or quality control experience;
• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P)

Physical Requirements

• Frequently walk or stand on level and inclined surfaces; climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands; and work at height using required fall protection.
• Crouch, crawl, bend, reach, grasp, and use sufficient manual dexterity to handle tools, gauges, and small components.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry items short distances.
• Read displays, gauges, micrometers, technical data, and small markings; identify defects and evaluate three-dimensional depth and color-coded information when job-related.
• Communicate effectively in the work environment and recognize job-related audible warnings.
• Operate authorized vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground-support equipment, forklifts, or auxiliary power units when trained and required.
