Job summary

A leading architectural firm in Longwood, FL, is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Drafter. In this fully in-office role, you will produce high-quality construction documents for residential builders. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of architectural experience, excellent quality control skills, and thorough knowledge of Florida Building Code. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive quality control reviews and redlining of construction documents.

  • Apply builder-specific requirements and standards where applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and respond promptly to client inquiries.

AB Design Group is a well-established architectural firm specializing in residential builder-series production homes, including single-family homes, townhomes, and condos. The studio also completes select light commercial projects and supports some of the area's leading home builders in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Position Overview

AB Design Group is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Drafter focused on producing high-quality, buildable construction documents for residential builder clients. This fully in-office role is best suited for a proactive, detail-oriented technical professional who excels in drafting, coordination, and resolving plan and field issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive quality control reviews and redlining of construction documents for residential and light commercial projects
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of plans for various builders
  • Identify and resolve structural and information errors throughout construction document sets
  • Apply builder-specific requirements and standards where applicable
  • Communicate effectively with team members and respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries
  • Collaborate with project managers, drafters, and other stakeholders to maintain a high level of quality across all deliverables
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience at an architectural firm, with a strong focus in residential construction
  • Experience with light commercial projects is a plus, but not required
  • Proficient in all aspects of construction document creation and review
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Thorough knowledge of current Florida Building Code and related standards (Accessibility Code, NEC, etc.)
