Job summary

Aviatron, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to assist the Chief Inspector in maintaining FAA compliance and continuous quality improvement across our repair and overhaul operations. The role emphasizes documentation, handling non-conformances, and supporting audits.

Required are a 3-year related background and familiarity with 14 CFR 43/65/145; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for team-based work in a demanding aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with FAA regulations (14 CFR 43, 65, 145) preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Support FAA compliance in line with regulations and company procedures.
  • Document and track Non-Conformance reports (CARs) and warranty trends.
  • Assist in training program maintenance and SOP development.
  • Contribute to quality investigations and audits.
  • Back up Chief Inspector as needed and support risk reduction efforts.

Aviatron is dedicated to providing quality aircraft component overhauls and repair services to the Regional Jet & Commercial Aircraft Operators of the world.

Aviatron, Inc. takes pride in its’ key role of providing leadership in the use of quality Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) & Designated Engineering Representative (DER) parts on Air Cycle Machines for the largest Regional Jet Operators in the world. And in using quality PMA parts for the Air Cycle Machine’s rotating group on the CRJ & Dash 8 aircraft, we have achieved significant cost savings for our customers in the process without sacrificing quality or reliability. We endeavor to increase the availability of quality PMA parts to keep our customers’ costs low.

Base salary range: $27.00 to 31.00 hourly starting wage, plus bonus potential, comprehensive health/dental/vision/Life and disability insurance, 401(k) match up to 6%, and Vacation, sick days, flexible work.

Overview of the Position:

The Quality Control Specialist has the responsibility and authority to assist the Chief Inspector in maintaining compliance with Federal Regulations and Industry Standards as outlined by the Repair Station and Quality Manual, AS9110 Quality Management System, and the Repair Station Training Manual. Assist with the regular review processes of the Repair Station to continually improve safety, quality and training by identifying risks and aiding in the development and implementation of improved practices and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support Quality system processes in compliance with FAA and Customer requirements
  • Perform Component Maintenance Manual Revisions.
  • Document and track Non-Conformance reports (CAR'S).
  • Track Warranty Claims, and report trends to both the Chief Inspector and Customer Service Manager.
  • Support in revising and maintaining company's Training Program.
  • Support monitoring the Calibrated Tooling and Shelf Life Program item due dates.
  • Assist in ensuring that all policies and procedures comply with regulations, procedures, and
  • Support Quality Department during product investigations and audits.
  • Contribute to the development and review of SOPs, Shop Equipment Preventative Maintenance Program, and other Quality related documents.
  • Participate in CAR'S analytical review process and contribute to reducing workplace and component risks.
  • Serve as backup for the Chief Inspector (Excluding RTS) in his or her absence.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Inspector.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Any previous inspection or aerospace industry related experience is a plus.

Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and 3 years of related experience or some combination of education and experience is possible depending on experience.

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
