Job summary

Precision Aviation Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to implement Repair Station policies and oversee QA processes, ensuring compliance with FAA and other regulatory standards. The role includes auditing, documentation control, and leading inspectors to maintain incident-free operations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in quality management within aviation, familiarity with Part 145, and the ability to read complex manuals and drawings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of aviation, repair and overhaul or related experience.
  • Minimum of five years in a quality management role.
  • Familiarity with Part 145 regulations.
  • Ability to read and follow technical, quality and regulatory documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret overhaul and maintenance manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and company systems.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Available to work full time with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, train, and mentor aviation inspection team to ensure competency and consistency in inspections.
  • Ensure personnel comply with FAA, EASA, CAA, etc., manuals and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain, revise, and control quality system manuals and associated documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, customer, quality agency and OEM requirements.
  • Ensure inspection data and tools are available and serviceable.
  • Inspect and approve all incoming parts, materials, and equipment prior to use.
  • Ensure no defective or unairworthy parts are used or returned to service.
  • Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies and auditors.
  • Ensure inspections, tests and repairs are within Repair Station authority and verified by qualified inspectors.
  • Provide reports to the Repair Station Accountable Manager.
  • Conduct internal and external facility audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee quarantine and scrap programs and technician training requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, technical, and safety teams on quality concerns.
  • Ensure timely corrective actions to resolve compliance issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain recordkeeping per customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage technical publications to ensure currency and compliance.

Job description

The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) is responsible for the implementation of aviation Repair Station Manual policies and procedures to ensure adherence to production and aviation regulatory standards. The QAM monitors and audits processes, products and materials, measuring and testing each against established standards, analyzing quality defects and deviations to develop solutions to ensure adequate and robust quality processes. The QAM updates and maintains quality systems and associated documentation, optimizing processes to comply with existing and new regulatory requirements.

  • Manage, train, and mentor aviation inspection team to ensure competency and consistency in inspections
  • Ensure personnel comply with current regulations (FAA, EASA, CAA, Etc.), manuals and company policies and procedures
  • Maintain, revise and control all quality system manuals and associated documentation
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, customer, quality agency and original equipment manufacturing requirements
  • Ensure maintenance and inspection personnel use approved or accepted data
  • Ensure adherence to procedures for preliminary, in-process, hidden damage and final inspections
  • Ensure inspection aids, tools and equipment are available and in serviceable condition
  • Ensure all incoming parts, supplies, materials and equipment are inspected and approved prior to use
  • Ensure no defective, non-conforming or unairworthy parts are used, installed or returned to service
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and auditors
  • Ensure all inspections, tests and repairs are accomplished within the authority of the Repair Station and that work is inspected and returned to service by a qualified inspector
  • Advise and provide reports to the Repair Station Accountable Manager
  • Conduct internal and external facility audits as required to identify potential non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain and oversee quarantine and scrap programs
  • Maintain oversight of facility technician training requirements
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to safety, quality and regulatory compliance
  • Work with engineering, technical and safety teams to address quality concerns
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken promptly to resolve compliance issues and prevent recurrence
  • Verify and maintain recordkeeping system in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Manage technical publications to ensure they are adequate, current and compliant to customer and regulatory requirements

Familiarity with Part 145 regulations and requirements

Previous experience in management role

Able to read and follow technical, quality, and regulatory documentation

Able to read and interpret overhaul and maintenance manuals, blueprints and technical drawings

Proficient with Microsoft Office, data entry, and company systems.

Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Available to work full time with overtime as needed.

Must pass required FAA/DOT drug testing and background screening.

Must pass required visual acuity and color vision tests

  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision (acuity and color) to normal range.

Education/Training: High school diploma or GED required. College degree in relevant field preferred. Additional training in, aviation quality or maintenance, manufacturing, repair station operations, or related technical fields is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of relevant aviation, repair and overhaul, manufacturing, or related experience required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in quality management role.
  • Experience in an FAA repair station or regulated quality environment is preferred. Experience performing non-destructive inspection preferred.
