Job summary

Catalent’s St. Petersburg, FL laboratory hosts an Associate Scientist II - Quality Control role focused on analyzing finished products, raw materials, and in-process samples in a GMP setting.

The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work under moderate supervision in a dynamic lab. Primary responsibilities include microbiological work, method validation support, instrument calibration, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds; no lifting greater than 44.09 pounds without assistance.
• Vision requirements include color differentiation and acuity per screening.
• Be accessible to manufacturing, laboratory, and office staff.
• Ability to use required office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze finished products, in-process materials, fill moisture, raw materials, and cleaning verification and validation samples.
• Perform analysis of finished products, validation samples, moisture testing, gas, water, and environmental sampling.
• Cultivate and identify microorganisms on selective and non-selective media; maintain cultures per ATCC and SOPs.
• Identify microorganisms using API and Gram Stain.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and media needed for analysis.
• Calibrate analytical equipment and maintain instruments.
• Dispose of hazardous waste per regulations.
• Log samples into GLIMS and record results.
• Work shifts including weekends; 8am-5pm; on-site.
