Job summary

Catalent’s St. Petersburg site seeks a Scientist II, Quality Control - Microbiology to lead microbiology testing across materials and products, ensure data integrity, and drive cGMP compliance. This hands-on role supports environmental monitoring and method validation in a fast-paced lab setting.

The candidate should have a strong microbiology background, extensive USP testing experience, and the ability to write investigations and SOPs with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related life sciences with strong lab training.
• Eight or more years in a regulated microbiology lab, pharma/biotech preferred.
• Hands-on experience with USP <60>, <61>, <62> testing and nonsterile products.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, stability, and validation samples.
• Support environmental monitoring and data integrity in a cGMP lab.
• Conduct growth promotion, media prep, and test organism handling per methods.
• Maintain and review LIMS data, raw calculations, and test records for accuracy.
• Initiate and write investigations for excursions, deviations, and anomalies.
• Write and revise SOPs, methods, and technical reports; assist with audits and safety.
