Quality Scientist – QC Analytical/Metals
Location: Branchburg, NJ
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Scientist to join the QC Analytical/Metals Group in Branchburg, NJ. This position will support the analysis of lithography chemicals and other formulations used in the semiconductor fabrication industry.
This is a hands‑on laboratory position, with approximately 80% of the time spent performing laboratory activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non‑routine sample analysis.
- Conduct hands‑on laboratory testing and analysis.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment.
- Provide analytical and troubleshooting support for product quality issues.
- Support Gage R&R / Measurement System Analysis studies.
- Transfer analytical methods between instruments.
- Work closely with Quality, Production, R&D, and Commercial teams to support timely product delivery.
- Operate analytical equipment including:
- Auto titrators
- HPLC
- GPC
- GC
- ICP-MS
- ICP-OES
- GFAA
- Follow and support the site's ISO 9001 Quality Assurance program.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
- Follow all applicable laboratory, safety, and quality procedures.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work safely with organic solvents and chemicals.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory and semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Cleanroom experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
Option 1:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1+ year of science/technology‑related industrial experience in a QC environment.
OR
Option 2:
- Associate's degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
- 4+ years of science/technology‑related industrial experience in a QC environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with PerkinElmer and/or Agilent ICP-MS systems.
- Experience with direct organic analysis using ICP-MS.
- Experience with GFAA and ICP‑OES.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
- Experience entering data into laboratory data management systems.
- Strong QC laboratory experience.
- Experience with chromatographic and spectroscopic instruments, including GC, HPLC, and GPC.
- Strong understanding of fundamental analytical chemistry.
- Practical experience with statistics and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
- Experience with statistical tools such as Excel, Minitab, or JMP.
- Experience with SAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently with appropriate management guidance.
