Job summary

Produce Innovations/Loffredo Fresh Foods is hiring a Quality Control Receiver in Norwalk, IA to inspect and verify incoming products against quality and food-safety standards. You will handle documentation, PO entry, and coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse teams.

The role requires a high school diploma or 3+ years in a USDA/FDA-regulated facility, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a cold environment with PPE. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 3+ years of experience in an FDA or USDA-regulated food facility
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and food safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, push/pull, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds or more
• Comfortable working in a cold processing environment (approximately 34–36°F), including damp or wet conditions
• Ability to use required PPE and safely work in a moderate-noise environment

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming products for quality, damage, weight, Brix content, specifications, and accurate quantities
• Verify purchase orders, receiving documents, and product information
• Enter received purchase orders into the warehouse management system
• Document and communicate shortages, damaged goods, and quality concerns
• Separate and document non-conforming or defective products
• Inspect stored products for quality, expiration dates, proper rotation, and ingredient statements
• Work with Procurement and Warehouse teams to resolve receiving and quality issues
• Coordinate with Procurement to schedule and maintain receiving appointments
• Maintain accurate and organized quality and receiving documentation
• Follow quality, food safety, and company procedures while completing additional duties as assigned

The QC Receiver is responsible for inspecting and verifying incoming products and materials to ensure they meet company quality and food safety standards before entering inventory. This role combines receiving, quality control, and documentation, with a focus on accurate counts, product condition, quality specifications, and proper storage and handling. The QC Receiver works closely with the Quality, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to identify and resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate receiving records.
