Job summary

MEI in Meridian, MS is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality standards for products and services, ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA. • High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of quality control or quality assurance experience in rigging, crating, or related heavy industrial sectors (manufacturing, logistics, construction).
• Hands-on experience with OSHA standards, load securement practices, and material handling protocols.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems (QMS).
• Knowledge of rigging and crating standards, including proper selection of slings, shackles, crate materials, and packaging techniques.
• Strong understanding of inspection methods, defect tracking, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
• Proficient with quality control tools such as checklists, control charts, and measurement devices.
• Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP or QMS software.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be self-directed, possess good time management skills, and perform safety-related tasks with required levels of urgency.
• Bilingual in English / Spanish helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other departments, such as DOT, Safety, and Operations, to ensure alignment on quality goals, resolve quality-related issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identifying potential quality risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on product quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Split between office and job site, the Quality Control Manager typically works in both indoor offices and outdoor or warehouse environments. While performing the duties of this job, the Quality Control Manager is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to adjust straps, move equipment and perform daily duties; reach with hands and arms; push feet to operate forklift; pull handles and grasp equipment; talk and hear.
