Job summary

Mercer Mass Timber in Conway, Arkansas is seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee QA/QC across glulam and CLT production. You will develop robust quality systems, supervise QC staff, and ensure compliance with ANSI, ISO, and customer standards.

Ideal candidates have a degree in a related field and proven leadership in engineered wood product quality. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, calibration, audits, and strong collaboration with production and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience in quality management within engineered wood products/menton mass timber.
• Strong knowledge of glulam and CLT processes and standards.
• Familiarity with certification and testing protocols (ANSI PRG-320, ANSI A190.1, ANSI 117, ISO).
• Proven leadership and ability to coach a QC team.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with quality tools (SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9001).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality management systems aligned with ANSI standards.
• Supervise daily quality inspections of materials and finished products.
• Manage QC technicians and provide training on inspection, testing, and documentation procedures.
• Ensure compliance with certification requirements and coordinate audits.
• Monitor quality metrics and lead root cause analyses for nonconformities.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance for quality and efficiency.
• Maintain calibration of testing equipment and ensure accurate data reporting.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions for quality concerns.
• Manage customer quality complaints, investigations, and resolutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in product consistency and waste reduction.
