Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead the QC department and ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality control plans across manufacturing. You will direct inspections, audits, and QA activities while coordinating with engineering, sales, and production teams to meet project schedules.

The role emphasizes developing corrective actions, maintaining the non-conformance system, and guiding staff through coaching and training to achieve quality goals.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is a base requirement.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain or manufacturing-related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of Quality Control experience; 5+ in progressive management preferred.
• CWI, ASNT Level II/III certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of AISC/ISO certification programs preferred.
• Strong communication and PC skills including MS Office; familiarity with engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive work environment by behaving and communicating professionally with customers, co-workers, clients, and supervisors.
• Manages direct reports through coaching and supporting their training, development, and productivity.
• Coordinates with drafting/engineering, sales and estimating, shipping and production departments to determine project schedules.
• Plans and formulates inspection plans; directs activities to ensure contractual compliance and assigns priorities.
• Determines QA methodology and techniques for inspecting/testing systems or materials.
• Conducts QA audits and prepares reports to document findings.
• Interfaces with customers, contractors and suppliers as a liaison and advises on status of work.
• Develops corrective actions to address problems and failures; maintains non-conformance system.
