Job summary

ASRC Industrial Services (AIS) seeks a Quality Control Manager to ensure adherence to quality standards on a coal ash remediation and landfill cell closure project. You will develop QC plans, perform inspections, and coordinate soil and concrete testing, driving corrective actions and documentation across the project team.

The role requires leadership in QA/QC, familiarity with liner systems, and the ability to obtain security clearance for access to secured facilities, including military bases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of QC management experience in heavy civil construction.
• Ability to obtain security clearance for access to secured facilities including military bases.
• Experience with clay and geomembrane liner systems to prevent leaching.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and teams of 2+ people.
• In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and QA/QC practices.

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the adherence to quality standards and protocols in all construction and industrial services projects. This project is a coal ash remediation and landfill cell closure, so experience with clay liners and/or geomembrane liners to prevent leaching is key. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of AIS Infrastructure's deliverables, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

• Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and guidelines for heavy civil construction projects.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate, oversee, and handle documentation of soil and concrete testing.
• Identify and address any quality issues, non-conformities, or deficiencies in construction processes, materials, or workmanship.
• Collaborate with project teams to establish corrective actions and preventive measures to improve quality performance.
• Review and maintain up-to-date project documents to ensure alignment with quality requirements and accurate record of work competed.
• Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding quality control practices and requirements.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance the understanding of quality standards and procedures among project personnel.
• Monitor the implementation of quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Generate reports and documentation to track and communicate quality performance metrics.
• Participate in quality-related meetings and provide input to enhance overall project quality.

Requirements and Education:

• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
• Strong construction quality control management experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience as a QC Manager, Superintendent, or Project Manager is required.
• Familiarity and experience with clay and/or geomembrane liners to prevent leaching.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and/or teams of 2+ people.
• In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
• Familiarity with relevant quality control tools, equipment, and software.
• Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and best practices in construction and industrial services.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess situations and develop appropriate solutions.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Preferred Requirements and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Preferred experience in landfills, geosynthetic/clay liner systems, earthworks, concrete structures, and HDPE piping.
• Preferred ability to utilize Procore and Unifier data management systems.
• Familiarity and experience with coordinating and monitoring soil and concrete tests is highly preferred.
• Relevant certifications in quality control or quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer, CQM-C) are preferred.
• Experience working with USACE is preferred.
• Familiarity and experience with coordinating and monitoring soil and concrete tests is highly preferred.

Travel:

• Travel to different project sites may be required as needed
