Quality Control Manager - Department of Defense Installations

Description

CMS is currently looking for a Quality Control Manager. CMS is an award-winning construction contractor with design-build experience and strong self-performance capabilities in mechanical, piping, and fabrication work. Our scope of services includes new construction, renovations, fueling systems, and energy systems for a wide range of commercial and Department of Defense (DoD) clients. As a prime contractor for the DoD, we have the ability to execute a full range of construction disciplines. Our mechanical capabilities enable us to self-perform technically complex mechanical and fuels work.

Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

  • Coordinate, oversee, and document the quality control program on field projects (DoD).
  • Identify, analyze, and develop improvements in productivity, client relationships, and customer service related to the quality management system.
  • Promote performance improvement throughout the project.
  • Implement project-specific construction Quality Plans at job locations.
  • Perform project site audits to ensure adherence to company SOPs, project plans, and specifications, and confirm drawing completions.
  • Lead investigations on project issues as they arise.
  • Document construction quality control through the project, maintaining reporting requirements including photo documentation and written reports.
  • Gather and maintain required submittals for applicable projects.
  • Lead communication on customer concerns regarding construction quality and coordinate appropriate adjustments with CMS construction and management teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science with 2+ years of project-related construction experience; or
  • Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science with 4+ years of project-related construction experience; or
  • High school diploma with 6+ years of related field construction experience.
  • Completion of United States Army Corps of Engineers, Construction Quality Management class (within the last 5 years).

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Ability to professionally represent the company verbally, in writing, and in person.
  • Ability to work with a team to achieve project goals.
  • Decision-making skills and responsibility for outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for documentation.
  • Knowledge of construction technologies, quality activities, and quality auditing.
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings, specifications, technical instructions, plans, and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other applicable web-based programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Works under the supervision of the Director, Quality Control.
  • Coordinates subcontractor and trade quality control personnel.

Working Conditions

  • Light physical effort, including lifting or moving lightweight materials.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and walk a project site.
  • Work is performed in outdoor conditions and at job sites.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, be insurable on company insurance, and able to travel as required.
