Job summary

Gilbane is seeking a Quality Control Manager - Data Center to lead all QC staff, processes, and activities on large DoD construction projects. You will coach and develop a high-performing team, ensure compliance with approved QC plans, and coordinate with design, construction, and commissioning teams.

The role requires a BS in Engineering/Architecture/Construction Management or CMAA, 10+ years in construction with at least 4 years as QC Manager, and knowledge of USACE/NAVFAC QC processes.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or CMAA Certification.
  • Minimum 10 years construction experience, 4 as QC Manager.
  • USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors training certification preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Interface with client representatives and subcontractors professionally.
  • Review designs and provide feedback to designers.
  • Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents and manage submittal review and approval status.
  • Implement the requirements of approved QC Plan and maintain required records.
  • Identify deficiencies and non-conformances, prepare documentation, and verify corrective actions.
  • Stop work if necessary to resolve non-compliant work or safety issues.
  • Coordinate and document commissioning and formal completion inspections.
  • Manage timely project closeout including turnover of documents.
  • Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and daily tasks.
  • Manage workload and performance of direct reports.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with business development to align QC with sales strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Interface in professional manner with client representatives and subcontractors.
  • Review designs and provide feedback to designers.
  • Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents and manage submittal review and approval status through use of submittal register.
  • Implement the requirements of approved QC Plan, assuring all required records are generated and managed.
  • Identify deficiencies and non-conformances, prepare documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions.
  • Stop work if necessary to resolve non-compliant work or matters that negatively affect safety.
  • Coordinate and document commissioning and formal completion inspections.
  • Manage a timely project closeout to include compilation and turnover of all required documents.
  • Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks.
  • Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards.
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
  • Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.
  • Collaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on your assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables. Actively participates in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that position Gilbane as the “Builder of Choice”.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or CMAA Certification
  • Minimum 10 years construction experience, 4 as QC Manager
  • USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors training certification preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
