Job summary

HHICorporation seeks an experienced Construction Quality Control Manager to lead QC on complex federal construction projects. This hands-on role ensures activities meet contract requirements, approved plans and government standards.

You'll work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, and government representatives to identify issues early, keep projects moving, and maintain OSHA/EM385-1-1 safety across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of construction experience, including 2+ years as a Primary Quality Control Manager on federal projects.
• Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, VA or similar federal projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the project Contractor Quality Control (CQC) program.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
• Conduct routine site inspections and document deficiencies.
• Lead Three-Phase Control Meetings (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up).
• Monitor activities for compliance with contract documents and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain QC documentation, reports, and government submissions.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and government inspectors.
• Enforce OSHA and EM385-1-1 safety requirements and conduct safety training.

TheidealcandidateisanexperiencedfederalconstructionQCprofessionalwithastrongunderstandingofUSACEorsimilargovernmentprojects,CQCrequirements,Three-PhaseControl,RMS/QCS,andgovernmentdocumentation.You’llworkcloselywithProjectManagers,Superintendents,subcontractors,inspectors,andGovernmentrepresentativestoidentifyissuesearly,maintaincompliance,andkeepprojectsmoving.

KeyResponsibilities

• Leadmishapinvestigationsandcompleterequiredreporting.
• Participateinpreparatory,pre-installation,andGovernmentcoordinationmeetings.
• WorkcloselywithProjectManagers,Superintendents,subcontractors,andfieldpersonneltoresolvequalityissueswithoutunnecessarilydelayingprogress.
• Supportprojectcloseout,includingpunchlists,as-builts,warranties,O&Mmanuals,andfinaldocumentation.
• MaintainprofessionalworkingrelationshipswithGovernmentrepresentatives,owners,inspectors,subcontractors,andprojectstakeholders.

RequiredQualifications

• Bachelor’sdegreeinConstructionManagement,Engineering,orrelatedfield.
• 10+yearsofconstructionexperience,includingatleast2yearsasaPrimaryQualityControlManageronfederalconstructionprojects.
• DemonstratedexperiencewithUSACE,NAVFAC,VA,orsimilarfederalprojects.
• Successfullycompletedatleastoneconstructionprojectvaluedat$8millionorgreater.
• Experienceonprojectsexceeding10,000squarefeet.
• OSHA30-HourConstructionSafetytraininganddemonstratedknowledgeofEM385-1-1.
• WorkingknowledgeofRMS/QCSandGovernmentelectronicreportingsystems.
• Strongabilitytoread,interpret,andenforceplans,specifications,andapprovedsubmittals.
• ExperiencewithBluebeamandProcoreorsimilarconstructionmanagementplatforms.
• ProficiencyinMicrosoftWordandExcel.
• Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills,includingprofessionalGovernmentcorrespondence.
• Strongorganization,documentation,time-management,andproblem-solvingskills.
• MustmeetapplicableGovernmentsecurityclearancerequirements.
• Mustpassapre-employmentdrugscreening.
• Validdriver’slicensewithanacceptabledrivingrecordandabilitytomeetcompanyinsurancerequirements.
