The Shelly Company is seeking a QC Manager to oversee quality control operations across multiple locations in Ohio, including asphalt and aggregate testing and mix design. You will lead QC Technicians, ensure calibration of testing equipment, and maintain compliance with safety and QA standards.
Responsibilities include directing a QC team, developing staff, and coordinating with production, sales, and management to meet project specifications.
Partner with the Business Unit President, Area Managers, Asphalt Production Managers, Aggregates Production Managers, Construction, and QC Groups to assist and enhance development, supply, and production of suitable quality products to meet specifications for Private, Commercial, and Agency Projects for the company's North business unit. The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing the quality control work and Technicians within his/her area.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four‑year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is frequently very loud and may require protective equipment.
