Qualifications

Quality Assurance Manager

Position Objective: This position is responsible for the oversight, implementation and maintenance of the entire Quality Management System (QMS) within a particular manufacturing site. They establish high standards of quality, reliability and safety requirements in accordance with real company needs based on current regulations and state-of-the-art product and customer supplied quality plans. They organize and promote the company wide policies, procedures and quality improvement efforts. They lead root cause analysis, problem-solving, enforce ISO 9001 standards, and manage non-conforming materials during production and resolve customer complaints. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability and safety.

Organizational Relationships: The Site Quality Assurance Manager reports directly to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager and must maintain close departmental relationship with the Engineering Manager and Plant Manager, as well as responsibility to all functional directors and managers.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Floor Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Works in conjunction with the Site Quality Assurance Supervisor to monitor the performance of the Quality Assurance Department and Quality Assurance Auditors.
  • Compliance & Audit Management:
  • Performs in-process audits and coordinates internal compliance audits.
  • Ensures strict compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Keeps all compliance files and documentation up-to-date.
  • Problem Solving & Corrective Action:
  • Monitors and analyzes quality metrics.
  • Leads investigations into customer complaints and non-conformances.
  • Uses 5-Why methodology for root cause analysis.
  • Initiates Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Equipment & Documentation Control:
  • Tracks calibration intervals for measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
  • Will coordinate with the Site Quality Assurance Supervisor to ensure the floor Job Book work instructions are accurate and current.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partners directly with the Engineering Staff during new product start-ups.
  • Coordinates product revision changes with Site Quality Assurance Department.
  • Streamlines cross-functional communication between floor operations and engineering, reducing response times for issues.
  • Responsive Communication:
  • Respond to all internal floor inquires and external or vendors in a timely, professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of full-time, professional experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2–3 years in a direct managerial or supervisory role.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment. Plastic experience a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ISO 9001 and Internal Auditing
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, root cause analysis and 5-Whys, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, is a plus.
  • Experience managing tool calibration schedules, job instructions and reading engineering blue prints.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally across all channels, establishing strong rapport with external clients and collaborating seamlessly with internal teams up to the executive level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours, as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and work independently.
  • A fast learner who can acclimate to new methodologies and ideas.
