LHH is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead and enhance its residential mortgage QC program. The role partners with compliance, lending, operations, and third-party vendors to ensure adherence to investor guidelines and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will own the program, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across departments to mitigate risk and strengthen controls in mortgage operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in residential mortgage quality control, mortgage compliance, underwriting, audit, or a related function.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan processing, underwriting, closing, and servicing activities.
  • Knowledge of agency and investor requirements, including FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and related guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of applicable mortgage regulations, including HMDA, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, Fair Lending, and other federal and state requirements.
  • Ability to independently analyze findings and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Experience working with third-party review vendors, auditors, or regulatory entities preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant industry certifications are a plus.

  • Review, analyze, and validate quality control findings and identify trends, root causes, and potential areas of risk.

  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and investor guidelines impacting mortgage operations.
  • Develop reporting and presentations for management related to quality control results, trends, and risk assessments.
  • Support broader risk and compliance initiatives, including regulatory reporting and monitoring activities.
  • Participate in vendor oversight, control testing, and business continuity efforts as needed.
  • Recommend process improvements that strengthen controls, mitigate risk, and enhance operational effectiveness.
