Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking a Quality Control Manager – Mechanical Construction to lead quality initiatives across all projects in the Mechanical Division. You will develop, implement, and oversee QC plans, collaborate with preconstruction and engineering on estimates, and ensure compliance with contract specs.

This role emphasizes safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience, with strong leadership and cost analysis

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage quality control within the Mechanical Division.
  • Develop and enforce project-specific quality control plans.
  • Coordinate with Preconstruction and Engineering on estimates, equipment, and manpower.
  • Provide weekly quality control reports and lead QC meetings.
  • Promote safety culture in collaboration with Company Safety representatives.

Role and Responsibilities

The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Work with Divisional Leadership Team to generate, evaluate, and analyze operational plans and processes in order to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
  • Provide overall leadership and management of all quality-related issues for the Mechanical Division.
  • Work with the Divisional Leadership Team in the development, implementation and ongoing management of consistent operational practices.
  • Evaluate and assess the cost effectiveness and profitability of projects.
  • Determine whether the estimates are accurate and provide education/feedback to the Divisional Leadership Team when they aren’t.
  • Coordinate with Preconstruction to prepare estimates and bids and determine how to go to market.
  • Work with Pre-Construction team on specific projects regarding a constructability approach with equipment needed, manpower and staging.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Pre-construction on actual construction practices and manpower used versus the way it is estimated. Conduct and/or review cost analysis by assessing material, labor, and overhead costs captured in the estimate.
  • Work with Project Managers to develop, and manage Project Specific Quality Control Plans.
  • Perform quality control inspections as needed.
  • Develop policies and practices to ensure all work meets or exceeds the contract specifications and contractor’s standard of excellence.
  • Develop policies and practices to ensure all materials meet or exceed the contract specifications.
  • Work with field supervision and subcontractors to enforce and maintain quality control standards.
  • Monitor and review data and information to detect and assess problems and make recommendations to resolve issues.
  • Review, analyze and understand economic trends and consider risks and cost implications.
  • Provide strategic and operational information and reports to share with others as and when required.
  • Provide weekly quality control reports to achieve desired quality outcomes in a timely manner by reinforcing activities that are being constructed in conformance with project-specific standards.
  • Lead and document quality control meetings with the project team.
  • Work with Company Safety representatives to effectively promote a safety culture and improve MSS’ overall Safety performance.
  • Attend project turnover meetings as necessary.
  • Interface and communicate with customers to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to represent the company to customers of designated projects and vertical markets.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
