Job summary

Gilchrist & Soames seeks a Quality Control Manager to oversee the QC program, ensuring products and processes meet required quality and customer expectations. You will manage daily workload, supervise QC staff and drive continuous improvement.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in biology/microbiology or related field (or ten years’ QC experience), plus 5 years in QC and 2 years leading a team; familiarity with cGMP, CAPA, and audits is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or ten years’ QC experience required.
• Experience with leading quality initiatives and audits.
• CAPA responses to audit observations experience a plus.
• QCA certification and Six Sigma are advantageous.
• 5+ years in a QC environment with cGMP knowledge.
• 2+ years leading and developing a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily QC workload and safety; manage staff relations and evaluations.
• Develop, revise SOPs and qualification/validation protocols and reports.
• Oversee QC operations: inspections, tests, audits; back-up QC analyst if needed.
• Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
• Investigate QC issues; drive corrective actions and deviations management.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D to embed QC in design and production.
