Job summary

CSI Sands (N.E.) seeks a Quality Control Supervisor to lead QA/QC at its Brevort, Michigan silica sand operation. You will oversee blending, sampling, laboratory analysis, and reporting to ensure product specs meet customer and industry standards.

Responsibilities include implementing QMS improvements, developing SOPs, training staff, and coordinating with operations and maintenance to optimize outcomes. Travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in civil engineering, geology, materials science, mining, process engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of quality control or laboratory experience in mining, aggregates, or industrial minerals.
• Experience in developing SOPs and QMS processes.
• Strong understanding of particle size analysis, blending methodologies, and screening technology.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory information systems (LIMS); SPC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Daily quality oversight: supervise blending, sampling, lab analysis, and reporting of production and quality results.
• Quality management systems: oversee implementation and improvement of site-wide QMS; ensure compliance with standards.
• SOP development and compliance: create, review, and maintain SOPs; train team members on procedures and safety/quality protocols.
• Customer liaison: communicate with customers on specs, testing, and quality concerns; handle complaints and corrective actions.
• Operational collaboration: work with operations, vendors, and maintenance to optimize screen configurations and process parameters.
• Provide technical support to other sand processing sites in Ohio and New York when requested.
