Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Quality Control Technician to maintain testing and data-analytic processes ensuring our products meet quality specs. You will test production batches, interpret results, and guide production adjustments.

This role supports ISO and safety systems, with a 6:00pm–6:00am shift and a comprehensive benefits package. Qualified candidates will have the ability to manage batch records, generate documentation, and communicate issues across departments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a quality control laboratory.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution facility.
  • Preferred: Associate degree or higher in Chemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tests are completed and results meet specifications before proceeding.
  • Enter batch data into the electronic batch records system.
  • Generate paperwork per customer specifications.
  • Gather and send customer samples as required.
  • Utilize computer systems to test products.
  • Determine disposition of non-conforming finished goods.
  • Place non-conforming material on hold as needed.
  • Support ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems.
  • Maintain inventory of lab supplies.
  • Communicate product issues to other departments.
  • Create and update SOPs for Quality Department to meet ISO requirements.
  • Assist in training other lab technicians.

Job description

This position is responsible for maintaining quality control processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results gathered to ensure Sherwin products meet quality specifications. This position is responsible for testing production batches according to specific written testing methods and identifying issues with both in-spec and out-of-spec data. The technician will interpret results and historical data to ensure the product meets or exceeds the customer requirements for quality, as well as provide instructions to production personnel regarding adjustments to batches as needed.

Additional Information:

Schedule: COS D Shift: 6:00pm to 6:00am

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

  • Support the ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems
  • Maintain inventory of lab supplies
  • Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed
  • Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for Quality Department to meet ISO requirements
  • Assist in training of other lab technicians as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a quality control laboratory
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
  • Have an associate's degree or higher in Chemistry
