Job summary

Clariant Corporation in Louisville, KY, is seeking a QC Technician to perform daily laboratory testing on materials and finished products. You will support QA, R&D, and manufacturing by analyzing samples with XRF, titrators, atomic spectroscopy, LECO, and ICP systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, and maintaining traceable records.

Requirements include a chemistry-related degree and 1–3 years in a quality-control or analytical lab.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical technology, laboratory science, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years in quality-control, analytical, industrial, or manufacturing laboratory.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as XRF with fluxer, titrators, atomic spectroscopy, LECO analyzers, attrition-analysis equipment, or ICP systems.
• Ability to follow written procedures, interpret test results, troubleshoot routine issues, and maintain documentation.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, quality systems, calibration requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to verify compliance with quality, safety, and product specifications.
• Perform chemical and physical analyses using approved methods, including titration, spectroscopy, elemental analysis, attrition testing, and other laboratory techniques.
• Operate analytical instruments and laboratory equipment, including XRF with fluxer, titrators, atomic spectroscopy instruments, LECO high-temperature furnaces, and ICP systems.
• Accurately interpret, document, and communicate test results while maintaining complete records and sample traceability.
• Identify anomalous or out-of-specification results, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate deviations according to established procedures.
• Support investigations into quality deviations and assist with corrective actions.
• Perform routine instrument calibration, verification, and basic maintenance with accurate records.
• Assist with development, validation, and implementation of laboratory test methods, QC procedures, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with production, QA, and R&D to support manufacturing and resolve product-quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab per SOPs, ISO requirements, and site safety standards.
• Monitor chemicals, consumables, and testing supplies for inventory and storage.
• Report safety incidents, near misses, equipment concerns, and testing issues promptly.
