Lactalis US Yogurt, Inc. in Brattleboro, VT is hiring a Quality Lab Technician for the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 10pm–6am). The role performs tests on materials and finished products, microbiological analyses, and release decisions while ensuring compliance with product specs.

Opportunity to grow with a large dairy leader and participate in training programs. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in QA, plus proficiency in Word/Excel and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years’ experience in related Quality Assurance environment.
• Experience working in a clean environment and performing laboratory analyses.
• Ability to operate and interpret results from standard laboratory tests.
• Clear verbal and written communication; follow directions accurately.
• Team-oriented and able to work with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document testing of materials and finished products.
• Perform microbiological analysis of raw materials and finished products.
• Hold/release/reject finished goods according to specs.
• Perform physical and chemical analysis of raw materials and manufactured products.
• Verify compliance and alert QA Manager of deviations from specs.
• Conduct temperature checks, ingredient usage, and pH testing; monitor metal detection.
• Perform sensory evaluation of raw materials and finished products.
• Conduct environmental testing and wear appropriate safety gear.

Quality Lab Technician

This position is 3rd Shift Sun-Thurs 10pm-6a

Skills Needed

• Perform and document testing of materials and finished products.
• Perform microbiological analysis of raw materials and finished products.
• Responsible for hold/release/rejection of finished goods.
• Perform physical and chemical analysis of raw materials and manufactured products.
• Verify compliance and alert QA Manager of any deviations from approved product specifications.
• Perform in temperature checks, ingredient usage and distribution, finished product appearance, code date verification, pH testing and metal detection verification.
• Perform sensory evaluation of raw material and finished products
• Perform environmental testing.
• Wear Company appropriate laboratory and safety gear as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years’ experience in related Quality Assurance environment.
• Experience working in a “clean” environment, utilizing aseptic methodologies, and performing bacteriological culture and laboratory analyses.
• Ability to understand, operate, and interpret results derived through typical laboratory testing procedures.
• Communicate effectively and accurately, both verbally and in writing.
• Take direction and follow instructions accurately.
• Work well with peers and supervisors in team process.
• Proficient in Word and Excel and job-related software applications.
