Job summary

Lactalis USA in Brattleboro, VT is seeking a Quality Lab Technician for the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu 10pm–6am) to test materials and finished products, perform microbiological analysis, and ensure product quality. You will document results, verify compliance with specifications, handle hold/release decisions, and support environmental and chemical testing.

The role requires 1–2 years QA experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED with 1-2 years in Quality Assurance.
• Experience in a clean environment using aseptic methods and lab analyses.
• Ability to interpret lab results and communicate findings accurately.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; able to use job-related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document testing of materials and finished products.
• Conduct microbiological analysis of raw materials and products.
• Make hold/release/rejection decisions on finished goods.
• Perform physical and chemical analysis of materials and products.
• Verify compliance and alert QA Manager to deviations from specs.
• Conduct temperature checks, pH testing, and metal detection verification.
• Perform sensory evaluation and environmental testing.
• Wear required laboratory and safety attire.

Quality Lab Technician

This position is 3rd Shift Sun‑Thurs 10pm-6a

Skills Needed

• Perform and document testing of materials and finished products.
• Perform microbiological analysis of raw materials and finished products.
• Responsible for hold/release/rejection of finished goods.
• Perform physical and chemical analysis of raw materials and manufactured products.
• Verify compliance and alert QA Manager of any deviations from approved product specifications.
• Perform in temperature checks, ingredient usage and distribution, finished product appearance, code date verification, pH testing and metal detection verification.
• Perform sensory evaluation of raw material and finished products
• Perform environmental testing.
• Wear Company appropriate laboratory and safety gear as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years' experience in related Quality Assurance environment.
• Experience working in a "clean" environment, utilizing aseptic methodologies, and performing bacteriological culture and laboratory analyses.
• Ability to understand, operate, and interpret results derived through typical laboratory testing procedures.
• Communicate effectively and accurately, both verbally and in writing.
• Take direction and follow instructions accurately.
• Work well with peers and supervisors in team process.
• Proficient in Word and Excel and job-related software applications.
