Job summary

WW Clyde is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician in Taylor, AZ. The role focuses on sampling and testing concrete, aggregates, and asphalt for projects, with emphasis on concrete testing in the lab and field sampling at pits and sites.

The technician will perform curing, strength testing, and data entry, ensuring compliance with ADOT, ASTM, AASHTO, and project specifications. Travel to sites is required to collect samples and support QA/QC efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Willingness to obtain ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I and Concrete Strength Testing Technician within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of concrete, aggregate, and asphalt materials and quality standards.
• Intermediate computer skills and basic math for test calculations.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, cure concrete cylinders/beams per specifications.
• Prepare and test concrete specimens for compressive and flexural strength.
• Perform fresh concrete testing including slump, air content, unit weight, temperature.
• Test aggregate samples for gradation, fineness modulus, SG, absorption, moisture.
• Test asphalt samples for binder content, gradation, and volumetrics.
• Support concrete and asphalt mix design development and verification testing.
• Travel to sites to collect samples and prepare splits.
• Report results promptly to Lab Supervisor and teams; flag out-of-spec results.
• Enter data into the lab database and maintain records and sample tracking.
• Calibrate, maintain, and clean lab equipment; keep the lab organized.
• Adhere to safety procedures and WW Clyde core values.
