Job summary

P.J. Keating Company, a CRH company, offers an internship in Quality Control in Massachusetts.

The selected candidate will learn QC processes to maintain high standards for asphalt and aggregate products, including sampling, gradation tests, and monitoring temperatures and pavement conditions. Responsibilities include working in the quarry and asphalt plant, testing materials, recording results, and collaborating with QC technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• AS degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• New England Transportation Technician Certification desirable.
• 1 year experience in quality control testing desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work in the quarry to learn process control through material sampling and gradations while testing materials safely.
• Identify and become familiar with various specifications requirements.
• Assist with monitoring the quality of hot asphalt mix at the plant safely and efficiently.
• Test materials to determine weight, specific gravity and gradation of mix components.
• Communicate test results and specifications with QC technicians.
• Input test result data into computers in laboratories and remote locations.
