Job Summary

The Quality Control Inspector (QC) assesses and reports on the quality of all vegetables received, in inventory, and shipped, ensuring all products meet or exceed customer and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect all incoming vegetable loads; perform outbound shipment inspections
  • Complete QC Inspection Reports for each load, including distressed or special loads
  • Assess and categorize inventory based on quality and condition
  • Manage quarantine/on-hold products
  • Conduct outgoing quality checks and review shipper checks
  • Inspect finished products and packaging for standards compliance as needed
Qualifications
  • Secondary school education or equivalent required; post-secondary preferred
  • At least 1 year experience as a Vegetable or Quality Inspector in produce or related industry preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, and Food Safety
  • Understanding of Fresh Fruit & Vegetable regulations, packaging, and labeling standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to vary work hours based on business needs
  • Work environment includes refrigerated warehouse conditions, loud machinery, and forklift operation
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, twisting, handling, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
