Job summary

LeJeune Steel Company in Barronett, Wisconsin, seeks a Quality Control Inspector I to perform in-process and final inspections of structural steel assemblies, ensuring compliance with drawings, material specs, welds, and coatings.

You will coach small teams, document rework incidences, verify piece marks, and collaborate with shop leadership to reduce rework and improve first-pass quality. This on-site role offers team-oriented growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• A minimum of two years experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, or a similar degree.
• Interests in destructive and non‑destructive weld inspection.
• Strong blueprint reading abilities.
• Ability to work/lead small groups and solve problems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and electronic data collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final checks upstream in shop operations.
• Communicate quality requirements to Production personnel.
• Aid third‑party inspectors.
• Monitor welder qualifications with production assignments.
• Document rework incidences and communicate them to QC Lead.
• Share best practices with Production personnel.
• Verify final piece mark/tag and proper routing for coatings.
• Document inspections for final record.
• Provide additional support to the department as necessary.
