Job summary

Lexicon is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for Schueck Steel to oversee construction inspection across multiple phases, ensuring compliance with AISC and AWS standards. The role is safety-sensitive and requires vigilance and precise documentation.

The ideal candidate has at least two years in construction or welding, reads structural drawings, and communicates effectively. Overtime and travel may be required; a CWI may be needed depending on project requirements.

Qualifications

• High School education or the equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years experience in construction industry and/or welding.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) may be required.
• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings.
• Must have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel for plumb, level, and elevation per AISC Codes and Standards.
• Inspect welding and handling of welding materials for compliance with drawings and governing standards.
• Inspect bolted and/or riveted structural connections by fastening materials, faying surfaces, tension, etc.
• Assist in the inspection of materials received on the job site.
• Assist in the inspection of all phases of steel erection, equipment installation, etc.
• Perform on site internal audit to confirm, or establish compliance with AISC, AWS, and company QA/QC Manual.
• Ensures compliance of AISC and AWS Standards with company sub contractors.
• Work within guidelines provided in company QA/QC Manual and apply codes and standards offered by related governing bodies such as AISC and AWS.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
• Perform non-essential functions as needed.

Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector for Schueck Steel is responsible for inspecting all phases of construction activities and ensures compliance with regulating authorities. Physical Demands
