Job summary

The Marvin Group in Inglewood, CA is seeking a Quality Control Inspector on 2nd shift (3:00PM - 12:00AM, M-F) to perform thorough product inspections, verify GD&T compliance, and document results in SAP. You’ll collaborate with QC teams, review supplier and NDT documentation, and generate inspection reports to uphold MEC quality standards.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, GD&T certification or 3 years of GD&T inspection experience, and at least five years as a QC inspector.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections, validations, and/or verifications of internal/external components to ensure compliance to MEC processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
• Inspect product using basic hand tools and bench inspection equipment interpreting basic GD&T.
• Visual inspection of mechanical assemblies, soldering, and paint finishes, in accordance to engineering requirements.
• Review non-destructive test documentation and supplier documentation in accordance with MEC Purchase Order.
• Generate inspection reports in accordance with MEC policy.
• Identify and segregate suspect non-conforming material and generate Quality Notification (QN) in accordance with MEC Policy.
• Perform first piece validations in support of all manufacturing areas.
• Witness and validate fastener applications. Including torque, rivets, sealants, etc.
• Support all QC areas including receiving inspection and In-Process Inspection.
• May be asked to perform higher level inspections while under supervision; exposure to 3D model aided inspection.
• Interface with suppliers and/or internal customers.
• May be asked to perform Source Inspections at supplier facilities.

Position Summary

Perform thorough product inspections requiring basic GD&T knowledge and other Quality Control applications. Ensure compliance to MEC requirements, quality standards, drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations. Document inspection results and report findings in SAP, collaborate with other members of the quality control team, and contribute to maintaining high product standards. This position is on 2ND SHIFT (3:00PM - 12:00AM, M-F).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Skills And Requirements

• High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
• Certification in GD&T required and/or 3 years of basic GD&T inspection experience
• Five years minimum experience as a QC inspector
• Certifications in relevant American Society for Quality (ASQ) topics or college degree in Engineering or other technical fields a plus
• Certificates of Completion in Quality Assurance for the professional a plus (i.e., CSUDH Quality courses).
• Above average understanding of hardware blueprint reading (notes, features, views, tolerances, etc.) and knowledge of specifications and contractual requirements
• Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal
• Able to perform basic math skills
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Able to work with others and be a team player
• Must have a good attitude and willingness to learn
• Able to perform basic computer tasks and have proficient typing skills
• Familiarity with SAP a plus

Pay Range

Pay rate - Non-Exempt (Inglewood only): $25.86 to $32.55/hour

Work Schedule

This position is on 2ND SHIFT (3:00PM - 12:00AM, M-F).

Travel Requirements

This position may potentially require travel due to support Source inspections. (25%)
