Job summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners seeks experienced Quality Control Inspector I and II professionals for multiple onsite opportunities in Garland, TX. These roles inspect power distribution assemblies to ensure compliance with electrical schematics, drawings, torque specs, UL requirements, and internal quality standards.

Ideal candidates have strong manufacturing quality backgrounds and experience inspecting electrical, electronic, automotive, or defense products.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or technical certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections of power distribution assemblies.
  • Verify assemblies meet electrical schematics, BOMs, engineering drawings, and mechanical requirements.
  • Inspect wire routing, labeling, terminations, fastening, hardware, and torque markings.
  • Conduct torque audits using calibrated tools and verify hardware type, grade, and washer usage against engineering specifications.
  • Perform final visual inspections and Hi-Pot/dielectric testing prior to energization.
  • Accurately complete inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Identify, document, tag, and segregate defective or nonconforming materials and assemblies.
  • Support verification of reworked products to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Identify, contain, and escalate abnormal, unsafe, or nonconforming conditions.
  • Stop shipments or place products on hold when established quality requirements are not met.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and re-inspections.
  • Cross-train in additional QC/QA functions, including receiving inspections and MRB/RMA processes.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures, UL requirements, quality standards, and internal manufacturing processes.

Available Shifts:
Quality Control Inspector I Shift Options:
  • 1st Shift: 2 openings | Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 1 opening | Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
  • Candidates selected for 2nd shift will initially train on 1st shift before transitioning to the 2nd shift schedule.
Quality Control Inspector II Shift:
  • Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking experienced Quality Control Inspector I and Quality Control Inspector II professionals for multiple onsite opportunities in Garland, TX. These positions are responsible for inspecting power distribution assemblies to ensure compliance with electrical schematics, engineering drawings, torque specifications, UL requirements, and internal quality standards.

The ideal candidates have a strong manufacturing quality background and experience inspecting electrical, electronic, automotive, defense, or similar manufactured products. The ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings is required.

Both levels support Lean Manufacturing quality principles by detecting abnormalities early, escalating issues promptly, and preventing nonconforming products from reaching customers. Level placement will be determined based on experience, technical knowledge, and overall qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or technical certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing quality control or inspection experience in electronics, electrical manufacturing, defense, automotive, or a related environment.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of UL and NEC standards.
  • Experience using torque wrenches, multimeters, inspection gauges, and other hand or inspection tools.
  • Basic computer, data entry, and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and quality issues.
  • Ability to interpret and follow engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Must own steel-toe boots.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience inspecting electrical assemblies or power distribution equipment.
  • Previous experience with receiving inspections, MRB, RMA, or related quality processes.
Quality Control Inspector Levels

Candidates may be considered for either the Quality Control Inspector I or Quality Control Inspector II position based on their experience, technical knowledge, inspection capabilities, and overall qualifications. Both positions require hands‑on manufacturing quality experience and the ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements and tasks.
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and twist as required.
  • Ability to use hands to handle and operate tools, equipment, and controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds while bending, twisting, or standing.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toe boots, and gloves.
  • Ability to work in a loud production environment with varying or extreme temperatures.
  • Some duties may be performed outdoors.

This position operates within an active manufacturing environment and may require work throughout production facilities, shops, offices, commercial buildings, and outdoor areas. Employees must follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and PPE requirements while working in a fast‑paced production setting.
