This position requires a current minimum certification of Energy Auditor (EA) by the Building Performance Institute (BPI).

About the Role

As a Quality Control Inspector at CEDA, you'll conduct on-site inspections of residential properties to ensure energy efficiency upgrades are properly implemented, making homes safer and healthier for families across Cook County.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform home evaluations and indoor air quality tests.
  2. Analyze diagnostic results and verify contractor work aligns with energy-saving goals.
  3. Ensure projects meet program standards and safety regulations.
  4. Maintain accurate records and handle sensitive data responsibly.
  5. Represent CEDA professionally and build positive relationships with clients and contractors.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and appropriate auto insurance.
  • Certified BPI/HEP Energy Auditor.
  • State certification or willingness to obtain within one year of employment.
  • Attention to detail, strong communication, problem-solving skills.
  • Professional attitude, good judgment, ability to work independently.
Work Conditions & Equipment

Approximately 75% community-based work, with varying weather conditions. Equipment used includes Gas Sniffers, Combustion Analyzers, Infrared Cameras, and more.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical activities as required.
