We don’t just respond to challenges—we rise to them.**What We Are Looking For**The **Quality Control Inspector (Construction)** ensures that all civil construction activities meet contractual, regulatory, and industry standards. This role sits within the Quality Department and supports the Quality Control Manager and Quality Control Officer. While this position does not supervise staff, it has significant influence across field operations, subcontractors, and client interfaces.**Success in the first 12 months looks like:**Establishing consistent, accurate inspection and documentation practices.Maintaining full compliance with specifications, codes, and safety requirements.Building strong working relationships with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and client QC teams.Demonstrating proactive identification of non-conformities and effective closure of deficiencies.**What You Will Do**Support managers in maintaining contract schedules and quality milestones.Assist the Quality Control Officer and Manager as required.Conduct post-work audits and observe active construction work, recommending changes when necessary.Recommend corrective action plans and schedules for non-compliant work.Prepare, maintain, update, and organize all relevant contract records and QC documentation.Communicate proactively with project management and superintendents regarding issues, opportunities, and changes.Produce and update forms, documents, and databases using Microsoft Office applications.Perform periodic site inspections, physical material testing, and operations monitoring.Develop and maintain Quality Control Plans (QCP), checklists, and detailed reports, including three-phase inspections.Identify non-conformities, track deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions with project managers and engineers.Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and testing labs to ensure compliance with quality standards.Manage submittal control, review, tracking, and material approvals.Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections, including witness/hold points.Verify acceptance criteria, ITP compliance, and test report accuracy.Manage NCR issuance, deficiency logs, and closure tracking.Interface with QA Manager, Owner/Client QC, and subcontractor QC teams.Perform quality-related safety observations and verify compliance with procedures.Complete other tasks as required.**Required Qualifications**High School Diploma.3–7 years of experience in **civil construction quality control**, heavy civil infrastructure, or related field.Valid Driver License.Proven ability to conduct inspections, document findings, and track deficiencies.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF tools.Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying construction environments.**Preferred Qualifications**Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and applicable safety requirements for civil construction and heavy equipment operations.Ability to think critically, resolve conflicts, and motivate self and others.**What to Expect**Candidates can expect:Daily field presence performing inspections, audits, and material testing.Regular interaction with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and client QC teams.A fast-paced environment requiring strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.Exposure to outdoor conditions, heavy equipment, active construction zones, and varying terrain.Frequent travel to project sites within Puerto Rico.A culture that values urgency, accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.**Physical Requirements and Environment**Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.Ability to work around heavy equipment, mechanical parts, and active construction zones.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Willingness to wear required PPE (hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, etc.).Ability to work in environments with extreme heat, vibration, wet/humid conditions, dust, and loud noise.Commitment to following all safety standards and protocols.**Why Join Ceres Caribe?**At Ceres Caribe, you won’t just have a job—you’ll have a mission.
