Qualifications

  • Previous quality control, inspection, or auditing experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with software applications is an asset.
  • Experience with JDA or NAV is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products to ensure they meet or exceed customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure product allocation is followed and the correct products are pulled and shipped to customers.
  • Assist the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor with product inspections, labeling requirements, and non-conforming product.
  • Identify, remove, and help correct products that do not meet specifications.
  • Flex between the shipping dock, receiving dock, and production areas to assist with quality issues and inspections.
  • Report exceptions to customer specifications to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor.
  • Communicate non-compliant product and quality issues through email.
  • Oversee floor operations when the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Monitor recent product rejections and identify rejection trends.
  • Ensure product packaging is clean, presentable, and meets customer expectations.
  • Maintain high presentation and quality standards throughout the facility.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees when required.
  • Assist with quality-control projects and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Mastronardi Produce is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team at our Livonia Distribution Center. This is a full-time night-shift position responsible for ensuring products meet customer specifications, quality standards, packaging requirements, and presentation expectations.

Schedule

Night Shift: Sunday–Tuesday, alternating Wednesdays 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

Training Schedule:

  • Sunday–Tuesday, alternating Wednesdays 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Training will be completed on the Day Shift before transitioning to the regular night-shift schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet or exceed customer specifications and quality standards.

Education & Experience

Qualifications & Skills
  • Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment skills testing.
  • Must sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint .
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to read and use measuring devices such as scales, calipers, and rulers .
  • Creative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Spanish-language skills are a plus.
Working Conditions
  • Work environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse.
  • Warehouse temperatures are approximately 45–55°F , except in office areas.
  • Background noise may reach approximately 70 decibels .
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Position requires working throughout shipping, receiving, and production areas.
