Job summary

Elgen Staffing is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a Portland, CT aerospace manufacturer. The role focuses on approving materials and products through inspections and data recording to uphold quality standards.

The candidate should have GD&T proficiency, analytical and shop math skills, and solid communication abilities; 0–8 years of inspector experience in aerospace or similar industries is preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• GD&T skills are highly emphasized.
• 0-8 years’ experience as an inspector in Aerospace or similar industry.
• Layout experience is a plus.
• Analytical and shop math skills with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Approves in-process and finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests.
• Working from purchase orders, process certifications, operation sheets, blueprints and other specifications to ensure compliance of parts and materials.
• Performs complex dimensional layout inspection to operation sheet/blueprint.
• Completes Inspection Method Sheets and verifies process certifications to part specifications.
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into the quality database.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.

Our client, a precision aerospace manufacturing company, has an immediate need for an experienced Quality Control Inspector, to join their winning team in Portland.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products and recording quality results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Approves in-process and finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests.
• Working from purchase orders, special process certifications, operation sheets, blueprints, and other specifications, ensures that all parts and materials are in full compliance.
• Performs complex dimensional layout inspection to operation sheet/blueprint.
• Completes Inspection Method Sheets and verifies special process certifications to part specifications.
• Perf Performs production Inspection.
• Understands and complies with SPI’s
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; and inputting data into the quality database.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Layout experience is a plus
• 0-8 years’ experience as an inspector in Aerospace or similar industry
• Analyzing manufacturing methods and procedures
• GD&T skills are highly emphasized
• Solid verbal and interpersonal skills, analytical and shop math skills, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
