Job summary

Total Aviation Staffing, LLC in Tucson is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our client’s aerospace team. You will perform mechanical and visual inspections on turbine engine components to ensure adherence to FAA standards and our internal procedures.

The role requires strong GD&T knowledge, precise documentation, and effective communication with shop personnel to move work according to plan. Shift typically 6:00 AM–3:00 PM with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in aerospace turbine engines.
• Proficient with standard inspection equipment and GD&T.
• FAA regulations knowledge preferred.
• English proficiency with strong reading, writing, and computer skills.
• Must be able to commute to Tucson, AZ 85705.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Complete accurate inspection documentation in accordance with aerospace standards.
• Communicate with shop personnel to ensure timely movement of work per planning.
• Operate Mitutoyo CMMs or similar coordinate measuring machines.
• Interpret data from maintenance manuals, catalogs, and drawings; apply GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections using standard mechanical inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore and thread gauges, and optical comparators.
• Complete accurate inspection documentation in accordance with company and aerospace standards.
• Communicate effectively with shop personnel to ensure timely movement of work according to work order planning.
• Operate and demonstrate proficiency with Mitutoyo CMMs or similar Coordinate Measuring Machines.
• Interpret and apply information from component maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, and engineering drawings.
• Apply a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in the aerospace turbine engine industry.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of standard inspection measurement equipment.
• Proficiency in English, with strong speaking, reading, and computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain flexible while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations is preferred.
• Ability to commute to Tucson, AZ 85705.
