VERUS AEROSPACE FINANCE INC is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our Torrance, CA facility. This full-time role focuses on inspecting finished and in-process parts to ensure customer requirements and AS9100 standards are met.

The position requires aerospace metal experience and proficiency with Verisurf software and CAD, plus strong documentation skills. You will generate NCRs, support root-cause analysis, and train junior inspectors in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years college preferred; combination of education and work experience may be equivalent.
  • Experience with Verisurf Software and Faro Arm is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED; and three years related experience.
  • 3+ years aerospace manufacturing metal experience.
  • 2+ years manufacturing quality control inspection experience; CQI designation a plus.
  • Possesses good reading and math skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply contractual requirements, standards, specifications, blueprints, mylars, job travelers, governmental regulations, or technical procedures.
  • Have a positive attitude when working with internal and external customers in the workplace.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables in work situations.
  • Ability to work as a team in fast paced production environment andcross-training duties.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects finished or in-process fabricated or mechanical parts, equipment and assemblies of a complex nature and determines acceptance or rejection.
  • Performs inspection of purchased parts, materials, components, and equipment as materials are received from operators, vendors, or subcontractors.
  • Examine plans, engineering documents, part lists, drawings, etc. to determine product parameters.
  • Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and traceability in accordance with AS9100 and internal quality system requirements
  • Understand Solid model CAD and Experience with Verisurf software. Perform first article inspections and generate detailed reports
  • Verify first article inspection and/or in-process inspection samples to the full requirements of drawings.
  • Generate and process nonconformance reports (NCRs) and assist in root cause and corrective action activities
  • Assist in the training of less experienced inspectors.
  • Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Adapts to changes in the work environment; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with 6S, safety, and housekeeping standards to promote a clean and organized work environment
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments including moving machinery, cutting fluids, metal shavings, vibration, and varying noise levels from moderate to loud
  • Always Work safely and report any unsafe conditions or injuries to your supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Quality Inspector role is responsible for performing inspection to all products and ensure they meet the quality standards per customer requirement before they are delivered.
