Onboarding Resource, LLC in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Quality Control Inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections of welding, piping fabrication, and fabricated structures. You will interpret drawings, apply quality standards, and document results.

Pay: $26.00–$34.00 per hour, DOE
Night Shift Differential: Additional 10% pay differential for qualifying night-shift hours
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to perform quality control inspections of structural and piping welding, piping fabrication and assembly, and fabricated structures. This position will perform visual, dimensional, assembly, and testing verification inspections, with field inspection responsibilities as required.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with welding and fabrication quality standards, can interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and is comfortable working independently in a manufacturing environment.
Perform visual inspection of welded parts, piping, structural components, and assemblies in accordance with applicable design requirements.
Interpret drawings, procedures, work instructions, specifications, and applicable codes to determine product acceptance.
Perform dimensional inspections of piece parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable design documents.
Conduct inspections within the manufacturing facility and, when required, at supplier or customer locations.
Monitor and document component testing, including hydrostatic testing, coating inspections, and other required testing activities.
Witness testing and perform process audits in accordance with documented procedures.
Prepare nonconformance reports (NCRs) when applicable and complete required quality documentation.
Ensure inspection and testing results are accurately documented and traceable.
Assist with training other personnel as directed by management or as required for specific tasks.
Perform field inspections when required.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and specifications.
Strong basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to apply sound judgment and common‑sense understanding when following written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate professionally with management, customers, vendors, and coworkers.
Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or quality management.
Minimum 2 years of experience with ISO 9000 or similar quality management systems.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with applicable welding, fabrication, construction, and quality codes and standards, such as:

ASME Section IX
ASME Section V
ASME B31.9
ASME B31.5
ISO 9000
AWS D1.1
SSPC
Similar applicable industry standards
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate Degree in Applied Science is a plus.
Certified Quality Inspector certification required within one year of employment.
Qualifications in NDE methods or Certified Level II experience preferred.
CWI or ACWI certification is a plus.
Ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
Ability to push, pull, or otherwise move objects as required.
Must have the visual acuity necessary to inspect components, identify quality issues, prepare and analyze data, operate a computer terminal, and perform extensive reading.
Ability to distinguish colors and demonstrate adequate depth perception and field of vision for inspection activities.
Position may require working in a manufacturing/fabrication environment and occasional field, supplier, or customer-site inspections.
$26.00–$34.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Night shift employees receive an additional 10% pay differential for qualifying night-shift hours.
Pay will be determined based on relevant experience, certifications, technical knowledge, and qualifications.
