Job summary

MACOM is seeking a Quality Control Inspector in Morgan Hill, CA. The role involves inspecting semiconductor devices across in-process and final stages, including SMT line, die attach, wire bond, and tape & reel processes.

You will work in a clean room with PPE and perform incoming material inspections with light data entry. The ideal candidate has IPC-A-610 experience, can operate a microscope, and is comfortable in a clean room environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years on-the-job knowledge or vocational/technical training preferred.
• IPC-A-610 knowledge required.
• Ability to operate a microscope and magnification tools.
• Experience in clean room environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform production quality inspection of semiconductor devices.
• Conduct in-process (PCBA/SMT line, die attach and wire bond) inspection.
• Perform final Tray and Tape & Reel inspection per procedure.
• Carry out raw materials incoming inspection and some data entry.
• Work in a clean room and wear PPE including eye protection and gloves.

Successful candidates will be expected to learn quickly, apply knowledge, and must meet the requirements below.**Location:** Morgan Hill, CA**Shift:** Day Shift (8:30am – 5:30pm)**A career as a Semiconductor Quality Control Inspector offers:**• Paid vacation and holidays• Health insurance benefits, 401(k), ESPP, café, paid vacation and holidays• Safe work environment in a growing company and industry• Predictable / Consistent work shifts• Pay day every other Friday based on standard work schedule• Available voluntary overtime, pre-approved by your supervisor• Internal promotion opportunities!**Responsibilities**• Performs a variety of functions in the production quality inspection of semiconductor devices• Will perform the in-process (PCBA/SMT line, die attach and wire bond) inspection, the final Tray and Tape & Real inspection according to the inspection procedure• Will be responsible for performing the raw materials incoming inspection and light data entry• Work in a clean room environment and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to eye protection, gloves and other department specific equipment• Conduct the visual inspection by using the microscope and magnification based on the failure catalog• Will work at Swing shift (2:30pm – 11:00pm) unless business needs dictate a need for Swing Shift (2:30pm – 11:00pm) availability• Push and/or lift up to 15 pounds frequently**Job Qualifications**• Experience demonstrating the visual inspection of semiconductor devices or the electronic assembly including SMT Line• Extensive knowledge and experience in IPC-A-610• Must be able to use the microscope and magnification• Must be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (i.e. clean-room suit)• Comfortable working a clean room setting• Proven work history showing a strong work ethic and stability in previous positions• Ability to sit or stand for 8 hours at a time with the flexibility to work night or day shift• Basic computer and math skills• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds• Good communication skills - able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate to others in verbal and written form• No vision restrictions; without appropriate corrective lenses• Ability to multi-task and approach tasks with detail-oriented manner• Aptitude for handling repetitive tasks• High school diploma or equivalent/GED**Preferred Skills**• 2 years vocational or technical college training or 2+ years on the job knowledge• Understanding the basic drawing is beneficial**EEO:**MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
