Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Middleburg Heights, OH is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform a variety of inspections on manufactured and purchased products. You will document results, update Oracle, and ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.

The role requires 3+ years in industrial metrology, GD&T knowledge, and proficiency with inspection equipment. A sign-on bonus is available and compensation reflects the Ohio market.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on industrial and metrology inspection experience.
• ISO, Gage Calibration, Metrology, and GD&T knowledge required.
• Knowledge of inspection and testing documentation and non-conformance handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform documented inspections using inspection equipment to accept or reject material or parts.
• Conduct First article, Receiving, In-process and Final inspections and determine acceptance or rejection.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, charts and procedures for acceptance decisions.
• Review and disposition of non-conforming material and customer returned material (rework, scrap, return to supplier).
• Maintain accurate inspection records and reports including traceability logs.
• Coordinate with other departments on inspection status to support production and shipping goals.
• Calibrate inspection/test equipment like gages and CMMs.

Quality Control Inspector SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE

As a Quality Control Inspector, you will perform a variety of inspections checks and tests for manufactured and purchased products. You will complete documents results in appropriate format and updates Oracle business system as required.

Location: Middleburg Heights, OH (greater Cleveland area )

Salary/Hourly Rate: $27.00 -$30.00

Your Challenge

• Perform documented inspections by using a variety of inspection measuring and test equipment to determine acceptance or rejection of material or parts.
• Perform First article, Receiving, In-process and Final inspections of material or parts; determine acceptance or rejection (MRB) after inspection and/or testing of materials, parts and/or equipment. This includes Commercial, Safety Related, Military, and ASME Code Product.
• Interpret and work within the guideline of drawings, specifications, charts, procedures and other data to determine acceptance or rejection of materials or parts.
• Assist in the review and disposition of non-conforming material and customer returned material or parts, including rework, scrap and return to supplier.
• Maintain accurate and current inspection and/or testing records including Inspection/Test Results and Reports, Traceability Logs, Rejection Reports/Tags, as required by the applicable procedure and/or specification.
• Coordinate and inform other departments of inspection and/or testing status in support of production and shipping goals.
• Perform calibration on inspection/test equipment used to support product acceptance such as, but not limited to variable and attribute gaging, measuring tools, pressure gages and shop floor test stands.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of hands-on industrial and metrology inspection experience.
• Knowledge and experience within the field of Quality (ISO, Gage Calibration, Metrology, GD&T).

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience within the field of Quality (ISO, Gage Calibration, Metrology, GD&T)
• Ability to use inspection equipment; such as: Surface Plate, Height Gage, Comparator, Hand tools, Attribute gages, etc.
• Ability to perform detailed review of documentation/certification to requirements
• Ability to apply visual inspection techniques
• Gage calibration knowledge and techniques
• Basic and intermediate shop math
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints
• GD&T knowledge, use and application
• Ability to set up and use a CMM for dimensional detail part inspection; analyze and interpret reports
• Software/Computer (i.e. Microsoft applications, Outlook).
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in and promote a team environment.
• Ability to utilize a CMM for dimensional detail part inspection; analyze and interpret reports.
• Ability to develop and perform semi-complex and complex dimensional detail part inspection.
• Intermediate or advanced math skills in algebra, geometry and trigonometry
• Previous machinist experience.
