Job summary

Armada Inc. is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to conduct inspections and tests, document results, and verify that work meets specified standards according to the Quality Management System (QMS).

You will perform in-process inspections, evaluate test results for acceptance or rework, and ensure compliance with contract specifications and industry standards. The role requires strong documentation skills and familiarity with naval coatings.

Qualifications

  • Skilled in blueprint reading, precision instrument utilization, technical manual interpretation, supervision, and written communication required.
  • Familiarity with Navy and SSPC coatings standards is preferred.
  • Excellent record keeping and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and tests, documenting results required by instructions, test memoranda, work instructions and drawings IAW QMS.
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure correct materials and procedures are used during production.
  • Evaluate test results to decide acceptance, rejection or rework per QMS.
  • Research specifications and regulatory requirements to ensure contract compliance.
  • Develop and maintain Test and Inspection Plan (TIP) for all assigned jobs.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained within calibration certification intervals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Summary

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes
  • Skilled in blueprint reading, precision instrument utilization, technical manual interpretation, supervision, and written communication required
  • Familiarity with Navy and Society for Protective Coatings standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent record keeping and documentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education And Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience in the Maritime Industry
  • Formal or informal on-the-job training in the Maritime industry
  • Industry relevant Certifications preferred, such as SSPC-QCS, NBPI or NACE
  • OSHA 10 (Company May Provide)
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds (50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly)
  • Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Occasional periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
