Job summary

Aviation Service Partners is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Houston, Texas team. You will inspect aircraft, systems, and components to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and ASP quality standards.

This role requires travel to customer locations throughout the United States (up to 75%). A minimum of five years as an FAA‑certificated A&P mechanic is expected, along with strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of commercial aircraft maintenance experience as an FAA‑certificated A&P Mechanic.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, airworthiness requirements, maintenance practices, and aircraft documentation.
  • Experience interpreting maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, IPCs, wiring diagrams, and technical publications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on aircraft and components per FAA regulations and manufacturer data.
  • Verify maintenance documentation, logbooks, and airworthiness records for completeness.
  • Coordinate with technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure quality.
  • Support internal and customer audits and FAA inspections.
  • Travel to customer locations across the United States as required.

Quality Control Inspector

Location: Various Locations Traveling QC

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our Houston, Texas team. This position is responsible for inspecting aircraft, aircraft systems, components, and maintenance activities to ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, customer requirements, and ASP quality standards.

This position requires travel to customer locations throughout the United States to support aircraft maintenance projects, inspections, return‑to‑service activities, and customer quality initiatives as business needs require.

Responsibilities
  • Perform receiving, in‑process, hidden damage, buy‑back, final, and return‑to‑service inspections on aircraft and aircraft components.
  • Inspect aircraft maintenance, repairs, alterations, and modifications to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, engineering data, and customer specifications.
  • Verify proper completion of maintenance documentation, work orders, logbook entries, inspection records, and airworthiness documentation.
  • Perform Required Inspection Items (RII) and other designated inspections when authorized.
  • Ensure all discrepancies are properly documented and corrective actions are completed before aircraft release.
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance technicians, production supervisors, engineering, planning, and customer representatives to resolve technical issues.
  • Review completed maintenance packages for accuracy and completeness prior to aircraft delivery.
  • Monitor workmanship and adherence to company quality standards throughout maintenance events.
  • Assist with customer aircraft acceptance inspections and delivery activities.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and FAA regulatory inspections.
  • Identify quality concerns and recommend corrective actions to improve maintenance processes and operational performance.
  • Maintain inspection tools, calibration records, and quality documentation.
  • Travel to customer maintenance facilities and project locations throughout the United States to perform inspections, aircraft deliveries, customer support, and quality oversight.
  • Represent Aviation Service Partners professionally while interacting with customers, FAA representatives, OEMs, and maintenance organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Management, or related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of commercial aircraft maintenance experience as an FAA‑certificated A&P Mechanic.
  • Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector, Inspector, Lead Mechanic, or Chief Inspector in a Part 145 Repair Station or commercial aviation environment preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, airworthiness requirements, maintenance practices, and aircraft documentation.
  • Experience interpreting aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, structural repair manuals, IPCs, wiring diagrams, and technical publications.
  • Experience with Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier, or regional aircraft preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic maintenance tracking systems such as TRAX, AMOS, Corridor, or similar software.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% (or as business needs require) throughout the United States.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain airport security badges and customer‑required access credentials.
  • Ability to travel by commercial airline, including overnight and extended assignments.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, weekends, holidays, overtime, and multiple shifts as required to support aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic maintenance documentation systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in aircraft hangars, maintenance facilities, and office environments.
  • Ability to climb ladders, maintenance stands, scaffolding, and aircraft platforms.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work around aircraft, machinery, chemicals, noise, and varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods while conducting inspections.
