Job summary

Associated Staffing is seeking a Quality Control Inspector in Hastings, NE to inspect incoming materials, work-in-progress and finished metal products for compliance with blueprints and specifications. The role requires blueprints literacy, precision measurement skills and strict attention to detail in a metal manufacturing setting.

This position offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 AM–4:00 PM) with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break and potential for involvement in process improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in a metal manufacturing environment or equivalent training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, protractors).
• Associate degree or technical education preferred, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
• Strong math skills including basic algebra and geometry.
• Basic computer skills (spreadsheets/word processing).
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and organization.
• Able to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently or as a team.
• Dependable with good attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, fabricated components and finished metal products for quality and accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, diagrams and specifications.
• Measure centerlines, reference points, dimensions and hole sizes to verify accuracy.
• Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, tape measures and protractors.
• Examine finished products for defects such as rough edges, cracks and other imperfections.
• Verify material sizes, properties and proper machine setups.
• Identify and mark parts for acceptance or rejection based on quality standards.
• Document inspection results and prepare quality control reports.
• Recommend improvements to materials, tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Follow established safety procedures and quality control standards.

• Strong math skills, including basic algebra, geometry and measurements.
• Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and word processing software.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written, verbal and diagram-based instructions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Must have steel-toed boots.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands and arms for inspecting and measuring materials.
• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have adequate vision to inspect materials, identify defects and perform accurate measurements.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $18.00 per hour Hours: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM Lunch: 1-hour unpaid lunch break Weekends Off!
