Job summary

Mastronardi Berea in Kentucky is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to monitor CCPs, verify GMPs, and support audits. You will label, sample, and document results, ensuring accurate changeovers and proper chain of custody.

The role requires aseptic technique, data entry into the laboratory portal, and training others as needed. This full-time position offers exposure to food safety, quality systems, and ongoing improvement initiatives at our Berea facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and verify CCPs and record corrective actions.
• Support internal audits and GMP adherence.
• Verify product labeling and changeovers for accuracy.
• Acquire samples using aseptic techniques.
• Label and collect pre- and post-harvest samples as scheduled.
• Perform sampling of the production environment via aseptic methods.
• Enter sample orders into the laboratory portal.
• Ensure chain of custody when delivering samples.
• Data entry of validation results and special projects.
• Monitor PPE and other safety/quality supplies.
• Provide training when required.
• Participate in other quality-related tasks as assigned.

Job description

• Monitor and verify Critical control Points (CCPs) meet requirements and ensure any corrective actions are properly performed and recorded
• Conduct and support internal audits and help ensure good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are being followed
• Verify and monitor product labeling and changeovers to ensure accurate labeling of all products
• Acquire samples in accordance with aseptic technique and methodologies
• Correctly label and collect routine pre-harvest and post-harvest product samples as scheduled
• Perform sampling of the production environment using aseptic technique
• Enter sample orders into the laboratory portal per written procedures
• Ensure samples are given to delivery drivers and that proper chain of custody is performed
• Perform data entry of results from validation studies or other special projects
• Monitor inventory of PPE and other food safety and quality supplies
• Provide training when required
• Performs any other quality related tasks or special projects as assigned

Shift Schedule:

5:30AM - 6PM - rotational shift:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday.
