Job summary

Western Aircraft Boise is seeking a Quality Control Floor Inspector to perform in-progress and final inspections on articles under assembly, repair, or alteration, ensuring all work meets FAA regulations and Repair Station Manual requirements for RTS.

The role requires five years in GA maintenance and an A&P certificate, with strong knowledge of FARs and QA/QC processes. A sign-on bonus up to $25,000 and relocation incentives are available depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in general aviation maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of FARs is required.
• Experience with QA/QC Aircraft Inspector roles preferred.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-progress and final quality control inspections on articles under assembly, repair, and/or alteration.
• Monitor service department adherence to the Western Safety Manual.
• Make decisions to determine airworthiness and RTS eligibility.
• Determine part approvals and major/minor repairs or alterations.
• Communicate with leads and Service Managers regarding work orders.

Ensure all maintenance performed is in accordance with FAA regulations, the RSM (Repair Station Manual), and the OEM (original Equipment Manufacturer) maintenance manuals for approval of any article for Return to Service (RTS). This will be accomplished by physical inspection and paperwork review.SCHEDULEMonday-Friday 7am-4pm (minimum 40 hours per week)SIGN-ON BONUSUp to $25,000 sign-on bonus / relocation incentive available depending on experience.Duties & Responsibilities• Perform visual inspections for quality and workmanship• Monitor service department adherence to the Western Safety Manual• Service is performed IAW the Repair Station Manual and FAA regulations• Ensure that Western Aircraft Policy and Procedures are followed• Make decisions to determine airworthiness• Determine part approvals• Determine major/minor repair or alterations• Ensure Certificated 135 Operator’s AAIP or CAMP programs are adhered to during maintenance• Ensure proper tooling is used to determine airworthiness and is currently calibrated when applicable• Communicate with the leads and the assigned Service Managers regarding assigned work orders• Ensure all maintenance performed is of such quality that the condition of the aircraft, airframe, engine, propeller or appliance worked or will be at least equal to its original or properly altered condition• RTS Authority• Technician duties may be required at timesQualifications & Job Requirements• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in general aviation maintenance required• Airframe & Powerplant Certifications required• Previous QA/QC Aircraft Inspector experience preferred• Experience with Gulfstream, Dassault Falcon, King Air, Cessna, Piper and Pilatus preferred• Strong knowledge of FARs• Strong proficiency with MS Word and ExcelOther Prerequisites• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check• Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badgeWork Environment & Physical Requirements• Work is primarily performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level, inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
