Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; teamwork-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect metal castings to verify dimensions, surface finish and overall quality against specifications.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) as necessary to identify defects in finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare detailed reports on quality trends and issues.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support audits and help improve quality control procedures and compliance.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Quality Control/Finished Goods position will ensure that all finished metal castings meet company and industrystandards for quality and performance. This role involves conducting inspections at various stages of the productionprocess, performing final checks on finished goods, and maintaining meticulous records to support compliance andcontinuous improvement efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Inspection and Testing
  • Conduct thorough inspections of metal castings to verify dimensions, surface finish, and overall quality against
  • specifications.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques as necessary to identify any defects or inconsistencies in
  • finished goods.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and results to support quality assurance and compliance
  • initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports highlighting quality trends, non-conformities, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Process Improvement
  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality defects and collaborate with engineering and production teams to
  • develop effective solutions.
  • Assist in developing and refining quality control procedures and protocols to enhance product quality and
  • Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to quality control in metal casting.
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the quality control processes.
  • Support internal and external audits related to quality control procedures and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in quality control or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in quality control within a metal casting or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and tools is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and other conditions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented production environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Eager to take on responsibility with a personal sense of accountability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job. The role requires working in a foundry environment with exposure to high temperatures, molten metals, and heavy equipment. Safety protocols must be followed at all times to ensure a safe work environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time, somesitting, some walking. Employees will be expected to repeat much of the physical motions throughout the shift that mayinclude the use of their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Employees will operate a variety of equipment andhand tools in a repetitive manner requiring a high degree of manual dexterity and close visual attention. The employeemust be able to carry and/or lift up to 25 lbs if needed.
