Job summary

Desert Ready Mix in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Quality Control Field Technician to ensure the highest standards for our ready-mix concrete. You will perform on-site testing (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and adjust mixes to meet project specs.

You will maintain records, collaborate with sales and production, ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained, and uphold safety and QA procedures. Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug test required; on-site outdoor work.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in ready-mix concrete quality control.
• ACI Level 1 Certification preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to safely work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with customers, contractors, and team members.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily quality performance and ensure concrete meets specs.

• Adjust mixes to maintain specifications and job requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot quality issues such as deviations and complaints.

• Maintain detailed records of test results and mix adjustments.

• Adjust concrete mixes as necessary to maintain compliance with specifications and job requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot quality issues such as real-time specification deviations, customer complaints, and warranty concerns.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and production teams to resolve quality concerns and improve customer satisfaction.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of test results and mix adjustments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and internal teams to enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction.
• Ensure all testing equipment is clean, maintained, and in proper working condition.
• Report or repair issues as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in ready-mix concrete quality control preferred.
• ACI Level 1 Certification strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing multiple tasks.
• Adaptability and willingness to safely work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, contractors, and team members.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, reach and crouch for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands and arms to handle tools and testing equipment.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. often.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
