Job summary

Enerflex Ltd is seeking a Quality Control Fabrication Technician I to perform visual and material inspections of piping and weldments, ensuring compliance with QA/QC programs and applicable codes. You will capture data, assist with training, and collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production to meet project requirements.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree, 3 years of inspection experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or certificate from a 2-year college preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ inspection experience of vessels and piping.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, specs and codes.
• Familiarity with ANSI/ASME B31.3 and API 1104.
• Strong organization, communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Timely visual and material inspection of piping and weldments.
• Ensure components meet Enerflex QA/QC requirements and codes.
• Capture performance data using fabrication software.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production.
• Train other employees on workflow responsibilities.
• Input data into fabrication software for performance measurements.
• Liaise with customer reps and inspectors as needed.
• Support third-party inspection services when required.

Quality Control Fabrication Technician I

Summary

This position will be responsible but not limited to complete quality fabrication checker functions as required by Enerflex Quality Control Program on fabricated process and utility piping including other miscellaneous weldments. Duties include; Responsible to ensure piping, and other applicable weldments meet all quality requirements such as applicable codes, company standards, engineering and customer requirements under the direction of the supervisor. Role will capture data using fabrication software for production performance.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Timely visual and material inspection of piping, & other applicable weldments.
• Ensure fabrication of various components meets the requirements of Enerflex Quality Management System, procedures, work Instructions, project requirements, and applicable governing codes.
• Adhering to internal quality programs and ensuring project specifications are met.
• Verification of various NDE methods.
• Capturing performance data on the fabrication floor daily.
• Timely reporting and communication.
• Understanding of raw materials, fabricated products, specifications, fabrication drawings and applicable Codes.
• Assist in creating QC Fabrication Technician workflow duties for training purposes.
• Will train other employees on workflow responsibilities.
• Input data into fabrication software for performance measurements.
• Work well with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production personnel.
• Foster strong relationships with customer representatives and authorized inspectors.
• When necessary, coordinate with 3rd party inspection services, vendors, clients, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or certificate from a two-year college is preferred.
• AWS/CWI preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the inspection of vessels, and piping.
• Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook) is required.
• Ability to read, understand and articulate fabrication drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, weld procedures, schedules and other QA/QC documents is required.
• Some understanding of ANSI/ASME B31.3 and API 1104.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Ability to prioritize the work in multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, follow up on commitments, and action.
• Strong ability to solve problems and communicate persuasively.
• Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Must be self-motivated. Must be a team player.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
